Good News and Bad News by Annie Miles

Today I have some good news and bad news. The good news is that we didn't have as much bad luck and everything turned out pretty well. The bad news is that we have to stay an extra day in Chicago. Our car has a leak and we can't really drive it anywhere. But today we used trains and taxis. We used the train to get close to Navy Pier and then took a taxi to get to Navy Pier. Our taxi driver was super funny and told us a lot of jokes. On the Pier we went all the way across the whole pier. The Ferris wheel wasn't open but we got a refund and were able to spend that on some calamari, chicken nuggets, and pulled pork nachos. Now we are having a relaxing night in the hotel pool!

KALAHARI!

Trouble in Chicago by Annie Miles

My family never really has any good luck in Chicago. A few years ago my parents didn't do so good and now all of us aren't having any good luck either. We left pretty late from Kalahari so we didn't get here until about 3:30. We went to Navy Pier right away trying to find a good parking spot. Turns out we got one pretty close. Navy Pier is like the Boardwalk on Lake Michigan. We went on the giant swings and had lots of fun. We had 6 more tickets but only 45 minutes on the meter, and the line for the Ferris Wheel was way too long. So we just decided to go find a famous pizza place. But that didn't work out to well either. We searched all over for a pizza place we found on the phone but the GPS wasn't getting any signal because of the super tall buildings and the phone was just messed up.We must have gone around the block 3 times just looking for this famous pizza restaurant. And then our car overheated.  We didn't find the restaurant so we decided to go to the hotel. On the way to the hotel we found a delicious restaurant and got to sit outside which is my moms favorite. After that we went straight to the hotel. at the hotel we went inside to get our 2 queen bed and a pullout couch room, and that didn't turnout well. The room was already taken because the hotel didn't get our reservation. So we had to call like 10 different hotels searching for just 2 queen beds, and not 1 hotel in the area had that. So we had to get a pullout couch and a king bed. We did do fine over the night with Matt sleeping on the ground. So we will just have to see what happens to our car! I will write a little bit more tonight!

The curse of Chigago by Matt Miles

The first two days are off to a good start. We had a little trouble with the car but its going to be alright. I hope the rest of the trip, we're not going to have anymore problems and have lots of fun!

Kalahari Water Park by Annie

Kalahari Water Park was awesome! The 8 hour drive here was totally worth it, even though I slept through most of it, all thanks to my wonderful parents who stayed up all night. Once we got there around 9:45 we unpacked, jumped into bathing suits, and ran downstairs. The views were spectacular, so many rides, slides, and pools! In Kalahari they also have an arcade, bowling alley, jungle gym, ball pits, zip lines, obstacle courses, and some other little things to do. I had the most fun boogie boarding on the Flow Rider and doing slides with the rest of my family.
